About
Kirstie Foley is the founder and owner of Powerful Peace Doula Care, LLC. Certified through ProDoula, Kirstie is a labor doula and childbirth educator. She is also the author of Birth Like You Believe: How to Reduce Pain in Childbirth from the Inside Out. Kirstie is a loving wife and the proud mother of two beautiful children. Nicknamed "The Praying Doula," Kirstie specializes in comfort for the body and soul, combining both physical techniques and spiritual support for pregnancy and labor.
Although she serves clients of all religious backgrounds, Kirstie is a devoted Christian and believes in preparing for childbirth spiritually, emotionally, and physically. She is an ordained minister who loves to serve women both spiritually and physically, welcoming Creator God into the birth space. One of her life's mottos is "Work like it's all up to you, and pray like it's all up to God!"
Kirstie is very athletic, making her the perfect doula to apply strong counter-pressure through contractions and endure long labors with great momentum of body and spirit. Although Kirstie supports clients of diverse birth plans, she is well trained with natural techniques to help reduce pain for those desiring physiological childbirth without pain medication.
She discovered her passion for childbirth while preparing for her first birth in every way she could think of—reading, researching, praying, meditating, and taking childbirth education classes. Anything she could imagine to eliminate fear, she did! Through the second pregnancy and childbirth, her passion blossomed. One day in prayer, God told Kirstie, "Your passion for childbirth is not just for you, it's for others." And there, her journey of certification began.
Both of her births were unmedicated, the first in a hospital and the second at home (a water birth). Thankfully, Kirstie experienced what she describes as “powerful peace” during both of her labors, quite the opposite of birth trauma. Consequently, she is passionate about helping others experience powerful peace in childbirth no matter the outcome. She brings faith, flexibility, sensitivity, confidence, and grace to the birth space.
